Product Description
Calcium silicon, also known as calcium silicide, is an alloy composed of calcium, silicon, and traces of other elements. It is primarily used as a deoxidizer, desulfurizer, and an alloying agent in the steelmaking industry.
Key Functions
Calcium and silicon have a strong affinity with oxygen. Calcium metal particularly has strong affinity with oxygen, sulfur and nitrogen, making calcium silicon an ideal composite deoxidizer and desulfurizer.
Silicon alloys provide strong deoxidizing capability, helping deoxidized products float and discharge easily while improving steel's plasticity, impact toughness, fluidity and ductility. Calcium silicon alloy can replace aluminum for final deoxidation.
